Chemichal articles: IRON

Gambar
Iron is the most important metal in the development of human civilization since the time of ancient Egypt until the modern age as it is today. This metal is the fourth most common element found on earth. Fe metals are present in hematite minerals (Fe2O3), magnetite (Fe3O4), pyrite (FeS2), and siderite (FeCO3). The most processed iron ore is Fe2O3, an iron sand containing SiO2 compounds. The processing of iron ore takes place on a blast furnace. Blast furnace, ironwork process Furnace height, way of obtaining iron Reaction: 600 ° C: 3Fe2O3 + CO -> 2Fe3O4 + CO2 850 ° C: Fe3O4 + CO → 3FeO + CO 2 1,000 ° C: FeO + CO → Fe + CO2 1,300 ° C: CO2 + C → 2CO 1,900 ° C: C + O2 → CO2 The mixture of ingredients incorporated into the furnace comprises: A) Fe2O3 iron ore still mixed with sand (SiO2) and aluminum and phosphorus oxides, B) coke as reducing agent, C) limestone (CaCO3) which serves to bind acidic impurities. The mixture of the ingredients is fed into the ...

REPORT: CATEGORY AND IDENTIFICATION OF ELEMENTS

Gambar
I. TITLE: CATEGORY AND IDENTIFICATION OF ELEMENTS II. Day, date: monday,12 aprill 2017 III. Goal : 1. Assess the similarity of the properties of the elements in the periodic table. 2. Observe flame test and reaction of some alkaline and alkaline earth elements. 3. Recognize the reaction of chlorine and halide water. 4. Analyzing an anu solution containing alkaline and alkaline earth elements and halides THEORYTICAL BASE: The flame becomes the hallmark of each of the elements. The sharp yellow flame color is a practical way to determine the element of sodium. This is why flame testing can be used to determine unknown solutions. The halide salt of alkali and alkaline earth reacts to a more oxidizing halogen, thus forming a halogen of the halide. The order of oxidizing forces is: F2> Cl2> Br2> I2. F2 can oxidize Cl- to Cl2 and Cl2 can oxidize Br- to Br2 and so on.  The classification of the next element is the classification held by J.A Newlands in 1864-1866. T...

USING ENGLISH FOR CALCULATE

Stoichiometry Now you're ready to use what you know about conversion factors to solve some stoichiometric problems in chemistry. Almost all stoichiometric problems can be solved in just four simple steps: 1.  Balance the equation. 2.  Convert units of a given substance to moles. 3.  Using the mole ratio, calculate the moles of substance yielded by the reaction. 4.  Convert moles of wanted substance to desired units. These "simple" steps probably look complicated at first glance, but relax, they will all become clear. Let's begin our tour of stoichiometry by looking at the equation for how iron rusts: Fe + O2→Fe2O3     Step 1. Balancing the Equation The constituent parts of a chemical equation are never destroyed or lost: the yield of a reaction must exactly correspond to the original reagents. This fact holds not just for the type of elements in the yield, but also the number. Given our unbalanced equation: Fe + O2→Fe2O3   ...

CHEMISTRY IN EVERYDAY LIFE

Gambar
Everything is made of chemicals. Many of the changes we observe in the world around we see that caused by chemical reactions. Chemistry is very important because it helps us to know the composition, structure& changes of matter. All the matters are made up of chemistry. In our every day like various chemical are being used in various from, some of those are being used as food, some of those used clanging etc. Photosynthesis    Chlorophyll in plant leaves converts carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen.  Plants apply a chemichal reaction called photosynthesis to convert carbon dioxide and water into food (glucose) and oxygen. It's one of the most coomon everyday life reaction and also one of the most important since this is how plants produce food for themselves and animals and convert carbon dioxide into oxygen. 6 CO 2  + 6 H 2 O + light → C 6 H 12 O 6  + 6 O 2 Aerobic Cellular Respiration  Here...

This rain come when all of student's go to school, but student keep spirit fot the next leasson. in this time teacher will be explain about noble gas solid . Teacher: okaay good morning everybody how are you? Student: good morning sir, not bad Teacher: in this time i will explain about nobel gas solid. nobel gas solid is all of element in group VIIA. this group is dificult to reaction with another element. helium, argon, xenon, radon, neon and kripton are element of noble gas solid. this explain is concise, so i want all of you to saerch about function all of it. student : yes, sir 5 minute was gone student: sir, the function of helium is... teacher : stop, please stand up student: sorry sir, the function of helium is to fill air ballon and change hidrogen gas as fill air ballon teacher : excelent, anybody else? stundent : sir, and the another function of helium is to fill driver tube with oxigen to change nitrogen as driver tube. and then the fun...

vocabulary

Dilute solution is a solution   containing a relatively small quantity of  solute   as compared with the amount of  solvent . This term is the opposite of 'concentrated' Ground state is The lowest allowed energy state of an  atom ,  molecul , or  ion   An   isothermal process   is a thermodynamic process   in which the temperature of the system remains constant. The  heat transfer   into or out of the system typically must happen at such a slow rate that the  thermal equilibrium   is maintained.   Valency is  how easily an atom or radical can combine with other chemical species. This is determined based on the number of electrons that would be added, lost or share if it reacts with other atoms. Corrosion is the irreversible damage or destruction of living tissue or material due to a  c hemical   or  e lectrochemical   reaction   pH scale i...
